The CMA600i features Questyle Audio's patented Current Mode Amplification (CMA) and True DSD technologies used in their flagship headphone amplifier, the Questyle Audio CMA800R.
True DSD technology and an AKM AK4490 DAC chip allows the CMA600i to achieve an impressively low 0.00042% distortion, with up to 950mW on tap for low impedance headphones. The CMA600i can also deal with the heaviest of loads, with a 4-pin balanced XLR connection to maximise sound quality.
The CMA600i uses a USB port with a unique 3X Clock structure, to ensure proper sync with the premium AK4490 32-bit DAC chipset. The chipset includes a newly developed switch capacitor filter "OSR Doubler" that greatly reduces sound degradation from noise shaping, achieving a flat noise floor up to 200kHz! The chip obtains first class sound performance by also reducing jitter and pre-ringing to undetectable levels.
With USB, OPT and SPDIF inputs, the CMA600i can accept audio from sources such as computers and mobile devices, digital audio players and CD Players. It will produce world-class sound quality whether the source is a music file or a movie or game soundtrack.
True DSD Processor
The CMA600i is designed with Questyle's patented 'True DSD' technology and AKM AK4490 DAC chip. It accepts the DSD bit-stream directly to provide True DSD with no PCM conversion, which is fundamentally different to DoP (DSD over PCM) and Native DSD processing.
The Questyle Audio CMA800i achieves this without requiring expensive, difficult to install, proprietary drivers. Neither does it require, as is the case with DoP, breaking up the bit-stream into 16-bit packets, compressing them into a PCM data-stream then at the other end uncompressing and buffering them, and reassembling the bit-stream so that it may be sent to the DAC as DSD. A huge amount of processing is required at both ends in order to perform this in real-time, which invariably leads to latency, data loss, etc, and a 33% increase in bandwidth requirements for the USB ports and cabling.
When the system processes DSD signals, the hardware mode switches to the True DSD channel.
Support for the highest resolution formats
The Questyle CMA600i is designed to grow with your music collection. As well as supporting standard digital files via USB, toslink or coaxial SPDIF connection the CMA600i is also fully compliant with files up to DSD256 and PCM 384k/32bit over USB.
Separate pre-amplifier section
The Pre-Amplifier output is another shared feature of the Questyle Audio CMA800i and CMA600i. Many manufacturers, when designing an all-in-one model, use the headphone amplifier circuit loop to support the pre-amplifier output to reduce costs. To achieve the best possible sound performance, the Questyle Audio CMA600i is designed with a totally independent pre-amplifier.
Build Quality & Design
The Questyle Audio CMA600i’s sandblasted, aircraft-grace aluminium chassis is produced by Foxconn, using precise CNC tooling machines. The upper cover and bottom chassis “mutual bit” structural design, ensures that the CMA400i remains at a stable temperature for extensive periods, as well as providing excellent control of sympathetic vibration and shielding from RFI/EMI radiation
