The Company

Recognised as the Italian leader in the production of tube amplifiers, Unison Research was founded in 1987 by a small group of audiophile enthusiasts led by Giovanni Maria Sacchetti, an accomplished pianist with a deep understanding and passion for music. In these early days Unison Research produced a variety of unique amplifiers, but the constant search for improvements in sound quality led them to focus on integrated designs. Their belief was that an integrated amplifier brought not just convenience, but also the potential for better sound quality by linking the pre- and power-amplifier stages inside one device, rather than using external cables. What followed was the iconic Triode 20 and the world-renowned Simply-Two integrated amplifiers, which spear-headed a new standard in audiophile-grade valve systems.

Over 25 years on, and Mr. Sacchetti is still involved in the core design and overall direction of Unison Research, but the introduction of new specialists and a close working relationship with the University of Padua has also seen the brand develop to include the class-leading Unico hybrid series. The introduction of the Unico range has also allowed Unison Research to introduce a series of highly-regarded source devices, including the hugely successful Unico CD.

The current Unison Research range is represented by the Valve and Unico series of amplifiers, with CD players, phono stages, headphone amps and speakers also available.
